Alan Millard Bio

Alan Millard was born in 1942 at Yeovil, Somerset. He attended school at Summerleaze Park Secondary Modern where a teacher asked for a copy of a poem he’d written and  secretly sent it off to a magazine. Three months later she handed it back to him now published in the Young Elizabethan with ten shillings prize money!

 

From then on he was hooked on writing verse. After training as a teacher at Trent Park College, Cockfosters and later gaining a Masters degree at Southampton University, he retired from teaching and now lives at Lee-on-the-Solent where he enjoys walking, reading and writing poetry.

 

He recently published his first novel, Variations on a Haunting Theme’ which is available as an e-book on Amazon and other sites. He will be eighty this year (2022) but still feels like a thirteen year old.
